Platforms: Moving from Squarespace
Outgrown Squarespace? We move the site to WordPress, free, and look after it from there.
Squarespace is beautiful out of the box. Then you need a feature it does not have, the plugin you want does not exist, SEO plateaus and the site is still entirely your job. SpeedSolid rebuilds the site on WordPress, keeps your rankings with proper redirects, and takes over hosting, updates, security and support.
Why people leave Squarespace
The six reasons businesses outgrow Squarespace.
Squarespace is a fine place to start. These are the moments owners tell us it stopped fitting.
Features you cannot add
No plugin ecosystem. If Squarespace does not offer it, you work around it or go without: advanced forms, membership, custom booking, integrations.
SEO plateau
Limited technical SEO control, generic URL patterns and no schema plugins. Competitors on WordPress with the same content outrank you.
Design template lock
Changing the look means changing templates, which means rebuilding. Small customizations need code injection you did not sign up for.
Commerce fees and limits
Transaction fees on lower plans, limited payment and shipping options, and a checkout you cannot fully customize.
Still doing it all yourself
Squarespace support answers Squarespace questions. Nobody is watching your site, testing your forms or updating anything for you.
Partial export only
The export leaves out product pages, galleries, audio and video blocks and more. Leaving is harder than arriving, so we do it for you.
How the move works
Your Squarespace site, rebuilt on WordPress and looked after by a team.
- Every page, image, blog post and product copied from Squarespace into WordPress, with a faithful design or an upgrade
- Permanent redirects from every old Squarespace URL so rankings and inbound links carry over
- Forms, galleries, scheduling and store rebuilt with maintained WordPress tools, tested daily
- Domain pointed to SpeedSolid with no downtime; email kept exactly as it is
- Google Search Console and Business Profile updated and watched for 30 days
- Monthly updates, backups, security and uptime monitoring from day one
- Accessibility menu, statement and cookie consent included on Core Plus and Core Pro
- One team that knows your site, a phone number and tickets monitored 24/7/365
What you keep, and what you gain
You keep: your domain, your email, your content, your Google rankings and your design if you like it.
You gain: any feature WordPress can do, full control of SEO, lower commerce fees, and a human team doing updates, backups, security and fixes every month.
Cost: the migration is free on every plan. Core Plus at $149.99 per month is the usual landing spot for a former Squarespace Business or Commerce site.
What transfers

Not ready to move the whole site? SpeedSolid Tools, business email and uptime monitoring work on any platform, including Squarespace, from $500 per year.
How we compare
Why not stay on Squarespace, hire a freelancer or do nothing?
Builders are built for people who want to do it themselves. The question is whether you still want to.
| What matters | SpeedSolid | A freelancer | Big-box host | Doing nothing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Who answers when the site is down | One team that knows your site, phone and tickets 24/7/365, site-down handled first | Whoever built it, if they still reply | A chat queue that does not know your website | Nobody, until a customer tells you |
| Updates and security patches | Monthly updates, urgent fixes right away, malware monitoring and cleanup | When you remember to ask | Server only. Your WordPress, plugins and forms are on you | Never, until the site is hacked |
| Contact form delivery | Authenticated email, a test submission every day | Set up once, never checked again | Not their problem | Leads silently go to spam |
| Backups | Monthly full backup plus a copy before every update round, restore for $50 | Maybe | Often a paid add-on, restore on you | None |
| Accessibility and cookie tools | Included on Core Plus and Core Pro, with a statement page and consent banner | Extra project | Not offered | Exposed to demand letters |
| Price | From $99.99 a month, no contract | $75 to $150 an hour, unpredictable | $30 to $60 a month plus every fix at your cost | Free, until it is not |
Your first 30 days
What happens in the first 30 days.
You keep running the business. We rebuild, you review, we switch. Headquartered in California with teams and clients in Texas, New York, Florida and Hawaii, servers in multiple US regions, support in US business hours.
Days 1 to 5: copy and plan
We export every page, image, product and blog post from Squarespace, map the URLs and agree the design: a faithful rebuild or an upgrade.
Days 6 to 20: rebuild and review
The site is rebuilt on WordPress on a private test address. You click through it on your phone and send changes. Forms, booking and ordering are tested.
Days 21 to 30: switch and watch
Domain pointed, redirects live, sitemap submitted, email untouched. We watch Search Console and uptime for 30 days and start the monthly routine.
What your site runs on
Enterprise infrastructure, with a human team in front of it.
SpeedSolid runs on enterprise cloud infrastructure that is audited and monitored around the clock, and we pass those commitments down to your website. What that infrastructure does not include is someone who knows your site and answers the phone. That part is us.
Audited data centers
Independently audited for SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS Level 1, with HIPAA-eligible infrastructure available on Core Pro private servers.
Published uptime commitments
Core Pro private cloud and managed WordPress servers carry a 99.99% commitment, shared hosting 99.9%, with a 24/7/365 network operations center behind all three.
East and West Coast servers
Northern California, Los Angeles and Ashburn, Virginia, with an Amsterdam option for European traffic. Your site sits closest to your customers.
Uptime commitments and certifications apply to the underlying infrastructure. SpeedSolid plan commitments are listed on the pricing page.
FAQ
Questions we get asked
Does Squarespace let you export?
Partly. The XML export brings pages and blog posts but skips products, galleries and several block types. We use the export where it helps and rebuild the rest by hand, then you review everything before the switch.
What happens to Squarespace Scheduling or Acuity?
Acuity can stay and be embedded in the new site, or we move you to a maintained WordPress booking tool. Either way it is tested after every update round.
Will I lose my Google rankings when I move?
Not if the move is done properly. We map every old URL to its new address with permanent redirects, keep titles and descriptions, submit the new sitemap and watch Search Console for 30 days. Most sites hold or improve.
How long does a migration take?
A typical 10 to 30 page site is rebuilt, reviewed by you and switched over in two to three weeks. The switch itself takes minutes and the old site stays live until you approve the new one.
Do I still need the old subscription?
Only until the new site is live. Then you cancel it. Many clients find the SpeedSolid plan costs about the same as the builder’s business tier and includes a human team.
Do you work with businesses outside California?
Yes. SpeedSolid is headquartered in California with teams and clients in Texas, New York, Florida and Hawaii. Servers sit in multiple US regions and support runs in US business hours.
What does it cost?
The migration is free. Hosting and support plans are $99.99, $149.99 and from $299.99 per month, month to month, with 10 percent off for annual payment. If the site needs a redesign rather than a straight move, we quote that separately at $150 per hour or a fixed price.
