Problems we fix: Hacked website
Website hacked? We clean it, close the hole and keep it closed.
Spam pages under your business name, a red Google warning, visitors redirected to pharmacy sites, or a host that took the site offline. Hacked website repair is the call we get most, and the fix is faster than you think when a team does it every week.
How you usually find out
The six ways a hacked WordPress site shows up.
If any of these sounds familiar, the site is compromised. Stop making changes, do not delete anything, and call us or send the form. The evidence helps us find the way in.
Google says “This site may be hacked”
A warning under your listing or a red interstitial in Chrome. Google found injected content or malware. Cleaning the site is step one; requesting a review in Search Console so the warning comes down is step two, and we do both.
Japanese or pharmacy spam pages
Google is indexing hundreds of pages you never wrote, selling pills, watches or in Japanese characters. That is a classic WordPress injection through an outdated plugin or theme. The pages have to be removed and the injected code found in the database and files.
Visitors redirected somewhere else
Your homepage loads, then jumps to a casino, dating or fake antivirus site, often only on phones or only from Google. Redirect malware hides in theme files, the database and sometimes in a fake plugin.
Your host suspended the site
The hosting company found malware or spam being sent from the account and took the site offline until it is cleaned. We clean it, send the host the report and get the account unsuspended.
Emails bouncing or marked spam
The hack is being used to send spam from your domain, so your real emails now land in junk folders. Cleanup plus SPF, DKIM and DMARC records gets your domain’s reputation back.
The login page looks wrong or you are locked out
A new admin user you do not recognize, a changed password, a login page that redirects. Attackers add their own admin account so they can get back in after a partial cleanup.
What we do
Hacked website repair, start to finish.
- Full file and database scan to find every injected file, backdoor and rogue admin user
- Clean copy restored from a known-good backup where one exists, manual cleanup where it does not
- WordPress core, theme and every plugin updated or replaced, abandoned plugins removed
- All passwords rotated: WordPress, hosting, database, FTP and email
- Google Search Console review request so the warning comes down, spam URLs removed from the index
- Host unsuspension handled with the cleanup report
- Firewall, login protection and daily malware monitoring installed so it does not come back
- Written report of what was found, what was done and what to watch
What it costs
Existing SpeedSolid clients on Core Plus or Core Pro: malware cleanup is included in your plan. Open a ticket or call and it moves to the front of the queue.
Not a client yet: cleanup is billed at $150 per hour, most WordPress cleanups take 2 to 4 hours, and we quote before we start. Move the cleaned site onto a Core Plus plan at $149.99 per month and the monitoring that prevents the next one is included.
Pay annually and save 10 percent. Migration to SpeedSolid is free.
How we compare
Why not a cleanup plugin, your host, or a one-time freelancer?
Each of these can remove the visible symptom. Most leave the way in open, and the site is reinfected within weeks.
| What matters | SpeedSolid | A freelancer | Big-box host | Doing nothing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Who answers when the site is down | One team that knows your site, phone and tickets 24/7/365, site-down handled first | Whoever built it, if they still reply | A chat queue that does not know your website | Nobody, until a customer tells you |
| Updates and security patches | Monthly updates, urgent fixes right away, malware monitoring and cleanup | When you remember to ask | Server only. Your WordPress, plugins and forms are on you | Never, until the site is hacked |
| Contact form delivery | Authenticated email, a test submission every day | Set up once, never checked again | Not their problem | Leads silently go to spam |
| Backups | Monthly full backup plus a copy before every update round, restore for $50 | Maybe | Often a paid add-on, restore on you | None |
| Accessibility and cookie tools | Included on Core Plus and Core Pro, with a statement page and consent banner | Extra project | Not offered | Exposed to demand letters |
| Price | From $99.99 a month, no contract | $75 to $150 an hour, unpredictable | $30 to $60 a month plus every fix at your cost | Free, until it is not |
Your first 30 days
What happens in the first 48 hours.
Hacked sites are handled first. Here is the sequence once you call or send the form. Headquartered in California with teams and clients in Texas, New York, Florida and Hawaii, servers in multiple US regions, support in US business hours.
Hour 1: contain
We take a full backup of the infected site as evidence, put the site behind a firewall, lock the login and rotate the passwords so the attacker loses access while we work.
Hours 2 to 8: clean
File-by-file and database scan, injected code removed, backdoors and rogue users deleted, core and plugins replaced with clean copies, site tested on desktop and phone.
Hours 8 to 48: restore trust
Search Console review requested, spam URLs removed, host notified, SPF and DKIM checked, monitoring turned on, and your written report delivered.
What your site runs on
Enterprise infrastructure, with a human team in front of it.
SpeedSolid runs on enterprise cloud infrastructure that is audited and monitored around the clock, and we pass those commitments down to your website. What that infrastructure does not include is someone who knows your site and answers the phone. That part is us.
Audited data centers
Independently audited for SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS Level 1, with HIPAA-eligible infrastructure available on Core Pro private servers.
Published uptime commitments
Core Pro private cloud and managed WordPress servers carry a 99.99% commitment, shared hosting 99.9%, with a 24/7/365 network operations center behind all three.
East and West Coast servers
Northern California, Los Angeles and Ashburn, Virginia, with an Amsterdam option for European traffic. Your site sits closest to your customers.
Uptime commitments and certifications apply to the underlying infrastructure. SpeedSolid plan commitments are listed on the pricing page.
FAQ
Questions we get asked
How did my website get hacked?
In most cases, an outdated plugin, theme or WordPress version with a known vulnerability. Weak or reused passwords and nulled (pirated) themes are the other common doors. The report we give you names the most likely cause.
Can I just restore a backup?
Only if the backup is from before the infection and the hole is closed first. Restoring and then not updating puts the same vulnerable site back online, and it is reinfected within days. We restore, then patch, then monitor.
How long until the Google warning goes away?
Once the site is clean and we submit the review in Google Search Console, Google usually removes the warning within 1 to 3 days. Spam pages can take a few weeks to drop out of the index, and we request removal to speed that up.
Will my data or my customers’ data be exposed?
It depends on what the site stores. Most small business sites hold form submissions and user accounts, not payment data. We tell you what the attacker could reach so you can decide, with your attorney if needed, whether anyone has to be notified.
Do you work on sites that are not on SpeedSolid hosting?
Yes. We clean WordPress sites on any host. Many clients move to SpeedSolid afterward so the monitoring and updates are handled, but it is not required.
My site is not WordPress. Can you help?
We can diagnose and advise on Wix, Squarespace, Shopify and plain HTML sites, and our monitoring and business email work on any platform. Deep cleanup work is WordPress.
